Despite her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley making a fortune as child stars, Elizabeth Olsen is adamant that her own children do not pursue showbiz until they reach 18 years old.
Elizabeth Olsen has stated that it is a “categorical no” for her future children to enter showbiz before the age of 18. The 34-year-old actress, whose sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley grew up as child stars, said they were “unique” and she would not want her children to follow in their footsteps. Elizabeth, who married Robbie Arnett before the pandemic, told The Times: “My sisters are unique, so it’s not because of them that I plan to say no to my children. I think it’s more a reflection on today’s culture.” Mary-Kate and her twin Ashley, now 37, announced their retirement from acting in 2012. Since then, they have both had successful careers in fashion. Elizabeth revealed: “Being young today is already so complicated. Amplifying it by being a child actor, then amplifying it with social media, I think it’s a lot for a child’s development. My sisters are following a totally different path than the typical child actor.”
