Shakira honored by Harvard, so proud of her, queen!

Colombian singer Shakira has just been honored by the Harvard Foundation as artist of the year for her contributions to music and charity work. The award ceremony will take place at Sanders Stage, Harvard University campus (USA) on February 26.

This is the highest honor of the Harvard Foundation for individuals who have made great contributions to society.

Shakira, whose real name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, started her music career as a teenager, then became a phenomenon in the Latin music scene with nearly 50 million albums sold worldwide.

In 2006, the song Hips don’t lie performed by Shakira reached number one on the music charts of 55 countries, becoming the best-selling single of the 21st century.

Shakira is also highly appreciated for her humanitarian work through the Barefoot Foundation, which aims to bring a better life to poor children through educational and medical support.
